Rothschild M&A Interview Drill: 30 Minutes
Use this free spoken-practice plan before a Rothschild investment banking interview. It is a practice structure, not a prediction of what any interviewer will ask.
The drill
- 5 minutes - transaction summary. State the buyer, target, consideration, strategic logic, and current status of a transaction in plain language.
- 7 minutes - valuation and premium. Explain how you would value the target, assess the premium, and compare the offer with realistic alternatives.
- 6 minutes - accretion and dilution. Walk through the main drivers, including funding mix, purchase accounting, synergies, and relative valuation.
- 6 minutes - deal risks. Name the key regulatory, financing, integration, and shareholder risks, then rank the two that matter most.
- 6 minutes - repeat. Present the full deal view again in 90 seconds with a recommendation and one condition that could change it.
