LionTree Media & Technology Interview Drill: 30 Minutes

Use this free spoken-practice plan before a LionTree investment banking interview. It is a practice structure, not a prediction of what any interviewer will ask.

The drill

  1. 5 minutes - business model. Choose a media or technology company. Explain its customer, revenue model, cost structure, and competitive advantage.
  2. 7 minutes - operating metrics. Select the metrics that best explain growth, retention, monetization, and unit economics. Defend why they matter.
  3. 6 minutes - valuation. Choose the valuation methods and multiples that fit the business. Explain when revenue multiples can mislead.
  4. 6 minutes - transaction logic. Name a credible buyer or partner, explain the strategic logic, and identify one integration or regulatory risk.
  5. 6 minutes - repeat. Give the full company view again in 90 seconds, leading with the business model and the most important debate.
