Citi Three-Statement Accounting Drill: 30 Minutes
Use this free spoken-practice plan before a Citi investment banking first round or Superday. It is a practice structure, not a prediction of what any interviewer will ask.
The drill
- 5 minutes - income statement. Choose one operating change and walk from revenue through net income, stating the tax effect.
- 7 minutes - cash flow statement. Carry the same change into cash from operations and explain every non-cash adjustment.
- 6 minutes - balance sheet. Finish the walk by balancing cash, operating assets or liabilities, and retained earnings.
- 6 minutes - harder variant. Repeat with a working-capital or deferred-tax change and state the cash impact first.
- 6 minutes - repeat. Redo any weak walk in 60-90 seconds without notes, checking that the balance sheet balances.
